Just got shipping confirmation on my Bitter Chocolate Patriots, and was able to place a phone order for the cognac Rothsays in 9EEE...which they will be custom making for me since they are technically sold out. :-)

Does anyone have experience with Rothsays? Good looking Indy-boot variation at a good price right now. Is it something I could wear in the rain? My rock port beater boots are wearing down.

I'd have to get an MTO too, as 10.5 eee seems sold out...

There doesn't seem to be too much out there in the way of reviews. The few I've read are generally pretty positive.

I've seen them in person several times now and I just love the way they look. The ones I've seen in person are much more of a deeper red than the tan/orange look on the website. I'm hoping that's how mine come.

Here's a photo of the tan/orange from Zappos:

A very nice color indeed - almost Color 8-like.  But that Harrier sole . . . .

What sole would you throw on there?

My preferred would be a lug of some sort.  Having tried on the Eagle County, I'll concede that the Harrier is pretty comfortable - but I just can't get past the "moon boot" look.

The long awaited Long Branch boots arrived today. They look spectacular and have a perfect fit. Definitely sleeker than my Alden Indy boots in Kudu for bad weather days that I just bought a few weeks ago. Trying to decide if I should keep them or sell them at a discount to msrp ( I'd prefer not to return another pair of AE's to my local store. Not sure I want to have that much money vested in lug sole boots right now, but they certainly do not disappoint:

ANOTHER NORDSTROM AFTER-CHRISTMAS SALE looks promising.

I should have more details to share, but it looks to be around 33% OFF the regular price.  If so, then my next purchase will be the Daltons for around $265.00 (regular $395.00), which comes with the Nordstrom's fabulous "satisfaction" guarantee and free shipping both ways - PLUS extra Rewards Points.

*************************************************************************************************

And on other news - it looks like the Long Branch Boots in Size 11, Medium (D) -are on sale at www.6pm.com for $221.00 (Regular $345.00)

********************

All my best to everyone, and a Merry Christmas,

David

Noooooooooooooo.

Well, either way, I'm looking for a pair of the brown leather Singletons, and only the suede was on sale.  Either way, drat.
