That's a good price. The navy ones look different than mine. Those appear to be two tone and have something felt like across the top. Mine are all rubber

This can't be said often enough.  The real things are cheaper, better, and last longer.  Mine are 15-20 years old and have never missed a beat.

Let me quickly add Cold Iron is correct about the tread style and fit not being for everyone.  For me, they are great.

And with my Navy Swims, to keep the conversation going:

Great looking shoes! May I ask what last is used for the Lexington?

Looking for some expert advice.

I recently bought a pair of Walnut Daltons in 11 D and absolutely love them. The length is fine and after 5 wears I am noticing that they are starting to stretch a bit in the width. I do get a slight rubbing against my baby toe but I am hoping that it will go away after a few more wears.

I now need a pair of dress shoes so I am considering a pair of Strands. Would I go with the same size or do I go a size up or down? Also because of the slight rubbing, should I consider an E width?

Your advice would greatly help me choose my next pair of AE's.

Thanks!

I wanted some flat waxed laces for my Daltons so I ordered a pair for $1.99 on eBay and love them so far. I also bought a few pairs of TZlaces that have yet to arrive so we will see if they are worth the premium.

Here they are next to the stock pair that came with my Dalton, I swear I am never going back to the stock pair again.

I personally like the stock laces better. What do you like in the flat ones?

So far I love the brown laces compared to the black ones and overall I just kind of dig the look. Who knows, maybe I will get sick of them after a while and it's not like I won't have the stock laces. I can switch back and forth between the two.

I will say the only thing I wish is that the flat laces were a bit smaller in width.

You could try these. They're a little bit narrower and noticeably thicker. They don't really have a dark brown, but they have some options, and the pictures on the site are pretty true to the actual colors. I recommended them in the Alden thread, and I think they would fulfill your wishes.

For some reason, the stock laces on those Daltons make it look like you're trying to tie up a roast.

I actually already bought a couple of pairs of the TZ Laces from Amazon and just waiting for them to arrive. I think It was even because of your post hahaha.

It's really too bad they don't carry a dark brown, but I ordered both black and brown and can't wait to give them a go.
