excellent advice indeed.  i have both clifton and park avenue.  IMHO, the fits are fairly similar. my current size works fine but i wish i had gone half-size up when i purchased them.  not only you should try to get a proper sizing by a sales associate, you would want to wear them and walk as much as possible in the store.

if you purchase shoes from an outlet, you can still return them as long as there is no visible wear on the soles - try them on in your apartment on a mat.  you can always return them, even with the closeouts.

I just placed a MTO yesterday. For the record I have had made in the past 2 Walnut Shell Cordovan Macneils and an Olive Green Strandmok. I currently have a Burgundy Shell Fraciscan on order. It should ship next week.

I saw and loved the look of the TBNY Lincoln. I was unsure of the quality for the price vs. AE. So, I was contemplating getting a pair of Bayfields in Bourbon Calf with some extra burnishing to the toe and heel… But then I looked closely at the Eagle County. They are on sale for $197. I saw someone do a special treatment of them on here, and the looked pretty good. So I realized that boot has some nice potential minus the white sole, so here is what I ordered yesterday for $197.

Eagle County in Bourbon Calf. Tone on tone stitching, Extra burnishing to the toe and heal. Black split reverse welt on a leather midsole with a mini lug outsole. Brown transparent edge dressing.

A one off custom MTO boot for $197, now how can I beat that?

Allison can offer us the Eagle County MTO for the going sale price of $197??? :bounce2:

I would totally buy a pair! I love the eagle county but hate the white sole.

Are they always able to do a MTO for the sale/clearance price on a shoe? I am really interested in a pair of Eagle county myself. Also, if they could do a shell version, how much extra would it cost?

I think for Shell or Independence line MTO's you have to pay the associated price, regardless of the shoe's style.
I got the Franciscan with Independence leather and paid for it. I think GOPShoe Guy did the same with Shell.

The guys who got discount shell MTOs ordered them when all the shell models were on sale

Are you saying you spoke to her and she said she will honor Black Friday pricing for MTOs?

That is correct. You pay the price of the upper.

So regular calf means that price, independence calf means that price , and shell means that price.

I managed to order nine during the Re-Discover America sale and so I got my MTOs at a discounted price in addition to no MTO fee. My shell MTOs cost $505.75 vice their normal $595.

What about regular calf with independence lining?

Not sure if anyone has done that here...

I believe that would be just the price of regular calf. You can change the linings, soles, colors for free with the MTOs.

Can someone send me or post Allison's contact info. I know it's been posted on the thread but I wasn't able to find it with a search

Hmm so what would the premium be to do the eagle county in Dublin or cxl? Awfully tempting as it was the sole that killed the boot for me.

I'm also interested in this whole Eagle County thing, as one in bourbon with a mini lug sole sounds pretty darn close to my dream boot. I like the shape more than Dalton and the last fits me better.

I think $197 is the 'base' price - I assume he had to pay another $125 for sole and leather changes.

hey Guys,

I live in NYC and most of my walking is either through city streets or to my car and back. I have no plans on using my boots to hike in but may run into situations where I could be walking through snow.

Which is the best type of sole I should get while keeping it low profile? Should I go with a mini-lug over just a topy?

Dainite sole might be the best option. I'm debating this myself.
