Decided that I want the merlot strands.  Did you get these from the outlet stores? or regular AE stores? Did they just honored the 30% off from this week's sale?

Ordered from the j'ville shoe bank. They took my CC info and will charge me Friday morning to honor the 30% off. She said orders that day will ship out on Monday.

Could be a sale next week but who knows

Veteran's Day weekend they were $8 each. I picked up 4 of them.

Wondering if anyone here would be interested in a pair of used Dalton firsts in a 12D. I don't really wear my much since I got the cordovan version.

Mitchell's also has more compartments (4, that fit at least 3+ cards each) and has the clip for bills.

Sorry, not sure how I forgot to mention that. They are walnut. Worn about 6 times, maybe less. Topy applied to the bottoms. Send me a PM if you're interested, and we can work something out.

OK good to know, the extra compartments and money clip sound very enticing without the logo. Sorry to everyone for going off topic.

Instead, I just made a Google Spreadsheet of the factory seconds list as of November 11th, 2013. Sizes 8.5D/E and 9D/E are listed. You should be able to filter based upon anything, including whether or not it's Closeout: Allen Edmonds Factory Seconds

What's your favorite casual black AE shoe to wear with dark grey chinos?

I'm thinking about going with the Larchmont or Flatiron Oxford in black.

I prefer boots, so in this case a black Dalton or even the new McAdams could be cool.

Shoe wise there's a black McTavish and Ridgeway, which are obviously more casual than some of the other AE offerings.

I have the Parkway in black, which is the same last as the Larchmont and Flatiron you mention. I feel it serves double duty as a shoes that works both with more casual pants and dress pants. This however all comes down to what your definition of casual is. For a lot of men in North America the Parkway, Larchmont and Flatiron would be dressy shoes.

Another option - not black but I think it would look great with grey chinos:
