That is exactly how my Dundees look, Ryden. I mentioned that on here last week. I haven't thought of a remedy yet.

You may not be getting a response because this comes up so often. At the top of the page is a 'search this thread' option. Search for Allison's phone number.

They have new webgems on the AE site. Merlot calf - including MacNeils and Strands and some others.

A sales associate told me that because they are hand made, sizing may not always be exact. Not sure how true that is… I guess get sized in the actual shoe (if you haven't already) and ask for a new pair.

I'm going to send my shell Jeffersons back and hopefully they can send me a new pair. I talked to someone on the phone who said to send them back so they could be checked out. Pretty bummed as I was looking at these shoes for several weeks before ordering, then had another 3 week wait while they were made. I guess it's going to be another 3-4 weeks before I get them back.

FedEx just dropped a package with a pair of Wolverine 744 made by AE.

I was considering a Beyfield MTO but there was just one pair hanging out there in my size and I pulled the trigger. Thoughts?

Love 'em! That's my thoughts. Congrats!

Thanks, mate. They feel great out of the box and I love the look too. I was hoping to get a more boxy, rugged look and they fit the bill perfectly.

I am a bit concerned about a single sole, but I will ask Nick V. to put the Vibram Raptors in a couple weeks (they are out of stock now).

I'm guessing that it's just the photo lighting that makes the right shoe appear like a different shade of brown vs the left shoe? And is that a shadow on the cap toe of the left shoe, or is that an indentation?

Otherwise, great looking boot! Perfect for the fall season too. Are the 744s recraftable by Allen Edmonds?

I was standing right side against the window in my office, so the right shoe appeared much lighter. In reality, there's just a tiny little bit of the variation in color, but I am sure it will disappear once I apply some Venetian cream and then down the road, when they begin to patina. So I am not concerned about it.

That's a shadow on the cap toe.

I believe they are indeed recraftable by AE.

I've seen reports in the past that AE has said no, they are not recraftable. I don't believe any of their collaborations are.

That said, love 744s. They are a great boot, and now that it's fall/winter mine are starting to get back in the rotation as well. Did you get them from just somewhere out there on the web? Or did AE happen to have some back in stock in seconds?

I've read on the Wolverine thread that AE would recraft them, but other than that, I don't have any personal evidence. In either case, I am sure Nick V. would take a good care of them.

Got them from the the Freeport store and they got shipped from the Shoe Bank. I am pretty sure it was just one odd pair in my size, 'cause Allison (from the Freeport store, not to cause any confusion) said I was pretty lucky to score them. She mentioned they were very rare and hard to get, but I must admit I've never tried in the past. Moreover, I actually had no clue they were made by AE until I stumbled on the Wolverine thread here on SF.

I called Wolverine after I got mine. They said they are recraftable... and they also will refund you 50% of the recrafting cost.

This is what they said over the phone.

The only problem I have with mine is the toe box holding shape.
