I was just checking them out the other day. I really dig those.

I've been on their MTO page, some of these options seem to be beyond that.  Is there a list or something going around or can Allison provide that to me when I work with her on a MTO?

Thanks!

unfortunately, not really. I would spend some time look at different styles, colors, soles, etc on their site. Then post some pics here and ask specific questions like "in this picture what color welt is that, etc" That is really the best way to go about it. When I ordered a Dainite sole on my Dundees I had only known it existed because I happened to randomly see it on one particular shoe on their site and then because another member hear happened to do a different MTO with it as well. It is still a bit of a "secret" menu when ordering your MTO

There is no list. Any upper that they currently make, or have recently made can be done, as long as they have the patterns and/or lasts. There are some restrictions, as she told me they can't change medallions (though they may be able to not have a medallion) since they are built into the patterns used. They also can't always do unlined for shoes that have been designed to be lined. And leathers have to be something they have on hand, so if you see any of their shoes in a leather color, you can get them. They can always change up the insole or soles to anything they make, change the eyelets, thread color, and laces.

All at no extra charge, so it's worth it, in my opinion, to go for the cadillac options, like the double JR soles.

Do you guys know if they can do discontinued models like the Player's Shoe?

It is surprising to me that AE does not have a plain toe boot.

My understanding is that if they have the dyes and lasts, then yes

Those would solve the issue you had with the OSB it looks like...

I agree that AE needs more boots. And more eyelets on said boots!

Ok thanks!  What is the advantage of "unlined" when it comes to cordovan?  Is it just so you can feel the cordovan more?

Also please get off the phone with Allison so she'll call me back :D

I would think the only advantage would be the lightness and the breathability. That would not go just for cordovan tho.

Unlined would also fit a bit bigger.

I find unlined to generally be more snug. I am not sure if they are able to pull the leather tighter on the last or what? But I have lined and unlined versions of the same shoe and the unlined is clearly tighter

Love these. I wore mine yesterday.

There is a shop in NJ that has these unlined in stock still, in a few sizes. (If there are any rare shell lovers looking...)

Pelle Line

I got my pair there ~6 months ago.

You can see what is available on their website.

They have them listed as brown, but I assure you they are Walnut Shell Cordovan.

I am glad they don't have this in a 12D, or I would not be able to stop myself from purchasing them. I have the Shell Jefferson and a Shell MTO on the way... I need therapy...
