I placed a MTO order with Allison over lunch today.  Quite excited.

Thanks for the update as that is my size. I have a list from the first day and the black Park Ave & Cambridge have sold out, while some of those numbers have actually increased.

I'm awaiting reply from Allison about finalizing my MTO MacNeil order :slayer:

I decided to go with the JR soles, afterall.

What other sole options does Allen Edmonds offer? Something like the Alden commando?

Basically anything you can find on their website.  And yes, I believe they offer a lug sole option like Alden's commando.

Sucks because I already had to return one pair that was much worse off than these with drastic creasing and wrinkles. Makes me wonder if they're selling seconds or something.

Is this cause for concern, or am I being anal? Seems like it might be from seeing this thread:

So, Allen Edmonds told me to return these to Lands End...Lands End checked their stock in size 11D and all of them are like this or worse. Just an FYI for anyone thinking of ordering them, you might want to call first and have them check your size before shipping.

Fortunately I was able to pair this sets good boot with my first sets good boot, as the local Sears I returned the first batch too still had them sitting around.

Realized I was holding my breath while looking at these.

Almost passed out.

I actually just called GILT to see if I could cancel the order before they ship. They said they would try, but couldn't promise anything.

Thanks, Opto. I have to agree. I really like that shade of shell. Glad I have more coming!

Can anyone give me a hand with sizing the 7 last? I am an 8D in 1 and 5 lasts. I think I am already different as I think most go TTS on the 1 last, but I am about an 8.25 on the Brannock haha.

The 1 lasted, 8D Dundees I just got fit perfectly.

My MTO cappuccino Macneil is back ordered 8 weeks.  The leather is in hand, but the shoe itself is back ordered.

I believe they quote all their MTOs at 8 weeks, evolved.

I, too, just ordered a cappuccino MacNeil.

Good point.  Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the term "back ordered."  I figured they would have us pay up front, not upon completion.

This is what I ended up with....straight from the invoice:

*CAPPUCCINO CORDOVAN
*TONE ON TONE UPPER STITCHING
*STANDARD LEATHER INSOLE
*CHILI SPLIT REVERSE WELT
*DOUBLE RENDENBACH OUTSOLE
*LIGHT BROWN TRANSPARENT EDGE DRESSING
*WHEELED EDGE

There may be hope and it will only take 4 weeks like my Dundee.
Ohhhhh. I need to add that wheeled edge. I forgot about that.

Just arrived today, Allen Edmonds Shelton, Special Make Up in linen and brown calf:

Saddle Shoes, or as we used to call them, Rah Rahs, 'cause the cheerleaders all wore them.
