what last were those made on? I dig them.

I just shined up my CXL  Bayfields over the weekend......a good brushing, damp cloth wipe down, one coat of Saphir Reno and two coats of AE's chili paste.  They look as good as I remember them from last season :D

On a side note, those of you with cappuccino cordovan.....does it lighten up with wear?  Allison sent me a sample of dark brown shell and a sample of cappuccino.....the cappuccino is darker but in some photos I've seen here, it appears to be lighter than the sample.  Any insight?

Has anyone purchased any burgundy shell cordovan recently? I really wanted a darker, more true burgundy shade (i.e. less brownish) like:

Would this shade be that difficult to procure?

Does anyone have a cordovan clifton? I would really like to see that make up.

Closest thing would be the townleys on the 2-last that some SF members fortuitously snatched up a few months back

A quick polish with the burgundy AE shell cordovan care creme made my brownish cambridges much more burgundy. YMMV

Recently received a pair of MTO Kenilworths in burgundy shell and their color is very similar to this picture.

Awesome. Can you please post pictures? That's a makeup I'm strongly considering.

It's funny you mention that.  I've had to return a pair of McTavish's to Lands End before for the same problem(they looked well tried on).  At least they have a good return policy :)

To whomever asked ... The Tricker Cordovan is Italian IIRC

Here is a rather good article comparing Tricker and Alden cordovan

You may have noticed my post a few pages back. Got my Bayfields from LE last Friday and they were exactly as OptoDoc described, plus a crack/split in the leather that ran clear through the liner to the outside. The uppers were extremely well worn in, with deep and heavy creasing and deep scratches/scuffs - but the bottom of the soles were OK though with some slight wear and some sticky bits of paper stuck. Almost as if someone wore them inside only for an extended period. Not at all new condition. But, LE is supposed to be sending a replacement right away so I'll keep my fingers crossed (for you too OptoDoc).

Yea, their QC leaves much to be desired.  I forgot to mention that they sent me the wrong color of McTavish's before they sent me the worn in ones :P

Good luck on your next pair!
