I like those Flatirons. They look damn sweet, and I'm loving that AE finally released a modern medallion toe without the extra broguing.

Thoughts on the Fifth Streets for year-round use?  I really like the way they look, and if I can get them for $199...

Oh thanks Chris! I have the AE cleaner/conditioner with me right now. So after you apply that you don't need anything else like a cream or wax? You are good to go?

The link seems to be offline now on the site, but you can still see the presentations on youtube. My favorite one seems to be the Welding- a sleek boot with a "spat"... seems to be very unique and suited for everyday wear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCB4CzG4NfM

Link seems to be working now. I like the idea of the competition, if not necessarily all of the results.

They all seem just so-so to me. I think the problem is the designers are students without real-world experience, which counts for a lot in terms of design. But, let's give the kids a break, an A for effort!

Their designs all seem gimmicky or fashion forward. I don't really care for any either. Would it have been so difficult to just rip off EG or JL so that we could have voted on those smile.gif

probably the earlier half of Spring, later part of fall, and winter.

I don't think I see myself wearing them too much in the summer.

I have the Fifth Street and I really like them (after the break-in). Definitely a fall/winter boot and it is pretty formal for summer.

Jump on it at $199 though!

I haven't put anything else on mine and they are fine.

New cappuccino shell cordovan limited editions are looking good. I'm tempted by the Dundee chukkas.

Anyone else here fit differently in AEs on the same last but in balamoral vs blucher? I wear a 9E in the 5 last which fits great in a balamoral like the strand, but a 5 last in a blucher like the kenilworth has a lot more space between the back of the shoe and my heel. I can compensate by tightening the laces on the bluchers more, but was wondering if anyone else notices this.

Actually, all three of those cappuccino shoes look nice.

Maybe It's the higher instep of the blutcher design in general. I've had both of those models, but the difference seems nominal to me.

Would somebody mind posting pictures of them all here? The pictures from the website aren't showing on either my home or work computer.

Isn't the Dundee just a shell Malvern? Why the need to give it a new name?
