Would be my first pair of AE's and first pair of loafers. How's the value I 'd be getting at $345? Anything better out there? I like the sleekness and color of this particular pair.

That is a good selection.

Another good selection may be on sale soon at over $100 off.  And the following is available in many colors:

Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Call them, ask them for name of the general manager.  Emails sometimes get shuffled and lost.

Enjoy your week,

For $575.00 cordovan shoes, they rarely can be found on sale.  But recently a pair was sold on eBay for $125.00 which were in like-new condition only being worn once.  If you have an eBay account, you can set up a free email notification whenever new listings are posted which match the phrase you are after.

Or, if you go to eBay today and type in the phrase "allen edmonds Cordovan", you will see several others that have the BUY-IT-NOW option starting at $39.

What else was included?

The Neumok was the only AE included in this advertisement. This magazine had a wide variety of men's and women's clothing, and just a small selection of shoes were included. I also about purchased a pair from the tent sale last week, and will likely look to pick these up from Nordstrom's soon.

The Park Avenue's retail for $345.

There are two (2) semi-anniversary sales at Nordstroms.

But there is only one "Anniversary Sale" at Nordstroms each year.  And based on past anniversary sales, they will probably be the same 35% OFF, which would reduce a $345 shoe down to only $229.

Although the regular sale starts July 19th, if you have a free Nordstroms Debit Card or Rewards Card - you can start buying on July 10th.

Details are here:  http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/anniversary-sale

For the extra savings, you may want to add another pair of great AE shoes that will also be on sale.

If you wait . . . you will not regret it.  Shoes, Boots, Loafers.

Any chance you can post a pic? I am looking for a cognac colored shoe and it looks like the Rapid City is the only one AE makes without the distressed look.

thank you

This is the sleekest and the best proportioned cap-toe shoe AE makes currently. Fantastic shoe; however the last disagrees with the foot. Wear them with pride :)

As Tampa Travel indicated, the BB branded Park Avenue seconds regularly go on sale for $159 and, at times, for as low as $129.

Ha alright you win. As far as penny pinching, you are the master :)

The Shoe Bank can get quite busy at times and from what I know, there's only a handful of employees working there (notably Nathan and Vincenzo). I suggest you call in during the morning to get a response.

For anyone that might be familar with past Nordstrom Anniversary sales recall if the Strands (more directly brown burnished) go on sale? I'm debating on picking up a pair now through the Brooks Brothers sale or just wait for the Nordstrom sale in a couple of weeks.

You can view archived Allen Edmonds catalogs from the following site: http://www.issuu.com/allenedmonds

Pretty neat!

the strand normally is included for the anniversary sale, but IIRC it is only the walnut. someone else can chime in if they recall differently
