The leather pieces just above the soles seem to be noticeably darker than the rest of the boots (imperceptible in low light, but very obvious in bright sunlight).

The Yuma sold directly by AE is two toned. The Nordstrom version was solid brown. I had mine dyed a darker solid color because they were two toned and it wasn't done evenly. For whatever reason most bison chukka's are often two toned, usually brown and a reddish color, as are my LL Bean Bison Chukka's.

However leave it to AE... What took so long is not only to get the go ahead for a custom order, but the ability of AE to do so. They do not have every size on the 0 last left around in inventory. Like someone said awhile ago they have ~50,000 lasts altogether. So what we need to do is get together a request based on size and they will check the lasts to see what they have left and compare to our request. When they have that and know how many requests they can fill they will give us the details of the group buy.

If everyone that is interested would either post or PM their preference I can then send it in and see what we end up with. Think we still need to come up with 10 but not positive. No idea on cost, options, etc. but normally it has come in at list price with waiving of the custom fees. But that is speculation at this point.

So what is everyone interested in? SOHO or Evanston? What color? And any input on fit of the 0 last would be appreciated by all. Looks like most people are comfortable with the same size as the 5 last: http://www.styleforum.net/t/161752/allen-edmonds-soho-fit

And DJTravler with his Evanston's:

I'm still in.  Thanks for the update!  My preference is a bourbon Soho.  My size is 9D.

I'm in as well. Either brown or bourbon, either style, and I am an 8.5E.

I would be in for either the Evanston or the Soho in Walnut. I think I prefer the Soho, kinda reminds me of the new Harrison. I am a 12 D. Keep me updated on the pricing when we find it out. If it is not outlandish, I will likely be in. And I'm really o.k. with either. Thanks!

Do you guys think saddle brown Vernons are too light to go with a mid charcoal suit?
I think a bourbon Evanston with 5 eyelets would be a near perfect shoe.

Unfortunately even if it was a possibility I don't have the funds atm.

Soho in bourbon in 12 EEE sounds good. Just sent in my evanstons for recrafting.

I'm in too. Still prefer the soho and I'm a 9d too. Prefer bourbon or walnut, but willing to accept a walnut or #8 shell wink.gif

AppleMark

Spectacular! Wear in good health and please post action shots when the time comes.

That's a little disappointing to know, but the boots are nice enough for the price that I'd probably keep them.

Any ideas if it's possible for a local cobbler to re-sole the shoes?  (It's not listed as recraftable by AE.)

I've posted better pictures that capture the color of each better, but if you're trying to see how much bourbon and walnut differ from each other, I posted this a hundred or so pages back.

I'd be happy with the soho in bourbon, but also walnut shell would be really nice as well. :) OK, I suppose I am in for whatever...
