Thanks, would love to see them!

These are made in USA and goodyear welted

I have a pair of their chukkas and I am very pleased.  Sizing is true to size

Much obliged.

Mexicutioner, I have seen the Stewarts and am considering them. However, I really want a dirty buck and a navy suede wingtip.

I often see these discounted. I'll bet with a little online searching you find a pair of Walkover or Gorilla - assuming you like the styles.

Thanks for the suggestion to you and all others who have chimed in.

Oddly, this thread has become the only thing I check on the internet daily. It's an interesting thing how you can feel a relationship to a group of people you only know through screenames and pictures of their feet.

What color of polish wax would I use for my walnut strands? For Kiwi, would I use mid-tan or Tan or neutral? For AE wax, neutral? I'm lost.

Really wish I jumped on the navy suede players when they were available in 11.5D... Oh well.

AE sells their Premium shoe polish in walnut color, so that probably should be the default choice.

I just finished polishing a pair of walnut Strands for my brother (who owns several pairs of AE's but NEVER do any maintenance) using some Saphir shoe cream in the light brown color that I have and I thought it worked very well.

You are an extraordinarily generous brother.

I did try larimor's. They don't have the right size to try on..I tried an 8.5 D  McTavish, which was great in the heel, but too tight across the ball of my foot. So far gordons is the only place that at least has a 8.5 E in the park ave, which I can try for a aproximate fit..I will call little's and see if they have anything in my size to try..

I currently am wearing J&M dobson cap toe 8.5 W, which is pretty roomy across the instep and ball of the foot. Is there any last in AE shoes that compares to this type of shoe that I can try? Maybe the 3 last? The 8 last is too big in the heel, but too tight in the ball of the foot

I live around 2 hours away from the nearest store, so it's hard to go and try on all the lasts.

Continuing on this thread, has anyone actually measured the widest part of the shoe to to compare it to another brand?  I would probably need a shoe around 4 1/4 to 4/12 inches wide at the widest part of the shoe. What would this correlate to in width size? I do know that AE's are made 1/8 inch larger per width increase.

I have been thinking about adding the navy to my collection (because I too failed to jump on the blue suede players) and was curious on how these look in person. Great to hear this an option.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but the Shoe Bank is currently having a 2 for $250 sale on discontinued models.
