Yes emailing the shoebank is probably the best and easiest way to get on the list. Buying something from them won't necessarily get you on the list.

I think there is a rule against posting those types on things in threads like this and is an offense that can get you banned and fined. The best way to plug your items without breaking any rules, I think, is to link to it in your signature.

That's what I thought. But, do you think it was polished to give it that darker look?

I think it is just the photography.

Thanks

Those look like Bourbon and that they are to dark to be Walnut. But when you look at the AE site, the Bourbons have a darker/blk welt. The walnuts have a natural welt. So I am guessing they are the Walnuts, unless you can get a different welt on the Bourbons...

This was published in 2010. No way it's bourbon, as bourbon shoes were not in production then. Definitely walnut. And FWIW, my walnut Player's are about 1.5 years old at this point and are very similar in color.

That is correct.  These are Walnut Strands.

I should probably buy 2nd hand walnut Strands and have it recrafted to make it look like that. biggrin.gif

I think you would be dissapointed.  The pair in the article is likely brand new.  AE will refinish them to their original color, so if you don't prefer the Walnut color when they are new, then you will not prefer it when they are recrafted.  There are subtle differences between pairs, some are darker than others, and I still think that the color in those photos has some enhancements.  Buy 2nd hand shoes if that is what you can afford, but don't expect color to be better.  Buy new or factory seconds if you can afford them and let them age and gain a character of their own.

50,000 lasts in inventory, according to their video!

Thanks. I'll do that.
