New Allen Edmonds Boot

I was at my local menswear / shoe store and they were showing me photos of a new boot that is supposed to be out this Fall. Think McTavish boot - wingtip low/medium rise balmoral boot with Rough Collection double soles. The colors shown - blue (like Neumok), dark brown, and light brown (not as light at McTavish).

I'm looking forward to the Fall 2012 AE collection - from the previews I've seen, there are going to be some nice items available.

No real point in picking up Elgins with strands in your opinion?
I own both, and think each has its purpose. I know the show is basically the same shape, but the constrast laces and rougher look of the Elgin make it look a lot more casual. Since I have the Elgins, I wear those with jeans. I think you can still get away with Strands with jeans, but I might wear them if I were also wearing a sportcoat.

Nice, I'm hoping for the Malvern in dark chocolate suede. I have seen the AE leather swatch book, they have it, also available for the Player shoes.

Did you see anything with a lug sole/rubber sole? AKA, something similar to the North Platte?

I just talked to them - they are going to have a more casual version of the Dalton, different color with rubber soles. She couldn't send me the picture - to be released in mid-August.

I saw a boot like that in person in March when I met an AE sales rep. It looked similar to the Dalton but did not appear to go as high up the ankle as the Dalton. It also appeared to be not as sleek as the Dalton (lug sole might have played into that).

Correct, she said it was a short boot, shorter than the Dalton.

"New with minor defects." Such as the fact that they are two completely different shoes??? This is not going to end well for the seller.

Looking for a belt to wear with Walnut Strands that don't cost more than $40. Does any one have any online recommendations? Thanks
