Waiting for the G11 myself. I actually like a camera to feel substantial, and I hate not looking through a viewfinder.

But... that does look like a really interesting P&S. Worth checking out for sure.

There are some samples on Dpreview.com FYI for the S90.

Like what? I like that he slices through the BS of what amateur photographers think they need to take pictures of their kids.

I don't know, I tend to agree with yifuyifu, except he makes me want to hurt him, not myself.

Softness is no big deal. If it still has detail in it, you can sharpen it up later on. The GRD III is nice too and that interface should be quite mature by now. Dual dials mmm...

It's too bad Fuji doesn't let anyone else use their sensor. Their interface and body is pretty ugly but the sensor is a work of genius.

Admittedly, I am a Canon P&S user having owned several generations of powershots.
I look for the following:
Largest sensor and lowest megapixel count
Adjustable flash output
28mm wide to reasonable telephoto (LX3 zooms out to 60mm which frankly is short, albeit fast at f2)
Ease in handling. This is huge and Canon excels here. Their interface works simply and easily
and now in particular on the S90 with front and rear control rings that will make it a dream to control exposure.
Canon says sometime in October which isn't soon enough for me.

He just comes off as a real fan-boy. When he's fixated on something particular, he is quick to dismiss anything else, citing mostly subjective opinions.

I'm basically in the same position. The S90 looks fantastic, but if I can't get my grubby little mitts on it on or before Oct. 12th [before I leave for S.E. Asia on vacation], I'm going with the LX3.

It looks like Amazon has it in stock. Anyone touched one of these? I'm seriously considering it, but I was hoping for reviews of it.

I picked up the GRDIII a few days ago..

It ROCKS.. Took me a day to get used to it, but my WAYW posts speak for them selves.

Low light is fast

Stealth ness is there..

& very configurable.
