Football coach refunds a fan’s money

The University of Oregon's football coach refunded the travel expenses of a fan who traveled to Boise Idaho to watch the Oregon Ducks lose to Boise State 19-8.

That's pretty funny. It's even better that the guy didn't cash the check.

I suppose it's a much better gesture after a lackluster performance than blaming the flu and accusing the opposing coach of not playing to win, unlike certain SEC coaches.

Reminds me of a buddy of mine who wrote a letter to the Bengals' president who wrote him back. The funny thing is my friend said (in as many words): "we sucked, you should resign".

The response "I'm afraid you are stuck with me as the team's chief executive" and "I fully acknowledge our failure of 2008...[and] will not burden you with a lengthy attempt to change your mind about our prospects for 2009 and beyond."

Classy move, and even classier that he declined to comment on it afterwards. Stand up guy in my books!
