Please recommend an insole for boots

I have a couple of pairs of chukka boots that I guess are just a bit too big. But, not enough to warrant sizing down or going down a width.
I am getting just a bit of heel slippage and a tiny bit of side to side motion when I walk in them. Not painful, just annoying. I have added tongue pads, which have helped, but I still need something more.

Any recommendations for (full or half) insoles that might work and are readily available (i.e., at CVS, et al)? Something thicker than white foam Dr Scholls but yet not in full fledged orthotic hyper-thickness territory?

I've had shoe salespeople recommend the Spenco brand. I tried them in a pair of Tod's chukka boots that I bought inexpensively online, but alas they were even too big for the insoles to help. So I still have the insoles, but a pair of Alden chukkas that fit, and need to sell the Tod's. Happy ending

Thought I would bump this topic instead of creating a new one.

Pedags worked for me. Orthotic support, but thin enough for dress shoes.

I would recommend getting boots that fit correctly. However, some of the best insoles that I have found that I used to use for arch support in my boots back in my military days were the Footlocker brand ones.

I have some by Tasco that are very good. You can find them at shoe repair shops.

Can I please get some more suggestions for a slight heel slip on service boots?

Cheers

I have a pair of chukkas that fit perfectly but when I walked in them my feet were sliding forward. Thicker socks solved my problem.

I just got Superfeet (green one) for my dayton service boots and it is too thick. Need something thinner...any other recommendations?
