Thread title says it all. I probably haven't worn jeans since I was four years old when my mom dressed me. I never needed it for school growing up and so I just never bought them when I went off to college. Now I'm starting to think I should probably have one pair of jeans so that I'm not always "that guy" from the MC forum.

Anyway, I've read some stuff here, but it just seems that owning a pair of jeans is way too technical for me. The shrinking, the stretching, the fading, the selvedge, the whack sizing, etc...So what's a good pair (under $150, better if under $100) if one were to only have a single pair of denim? Go easy guys.

PC New Standard.

It's almost every noob's first raw denim jean. It's cheap at $150 too.

Or you could just go big and grab a jean from self edge online shop. Flat Head and Iron Heart are two amazing brands.

Why get raw if you rarely wear denim? Isn't half the battle with raw denim simply wearing them enough to get a quality break in? It will take you years if you only wear them 2x a week. I would just get a pair of darker rinsed selvedge.

RRL go on ebay for the price range you're talking about. Go that route.

Some people like the way raw jeans look and feel.

Get the Chimalas i have on sale over at the B&S section. Great jeans with top notch craftmanship. I personally bought them to be THE jeans to be worn all the time without having many pairs lying around waiting to be 'rotated'.

you don't need to wear them a ton to get a quality break in

superfine, acne, etc. get a one-wash and dark pair.

raw jeans are uncomfortable and overrated and only internet geeks are impressed by them.

RRL straight leg and APC New Standard are always safe and excellent. Levis 514 or 501 have the advantage of fitting TTS.

^ Feels that a high-post count makes him an authority.

One wash is pretty nice, I'm looking into it myself. I can't do the raw thing and I wont be able to impress anyone besides people on styleforum or other denim devoted sites, "mostly". On another note, I refrain from wearing the same jeans 5-7 days a week to work and school, and have people looking at me like wtf. Sorry, just my two cents. Do what you want and be what you want....

Get a pair of Wrangler jeans at Wal Mart for under $25.00. You cannot go wrong there.

fwiw, several of my friends have commented favorably on the fades I've got on my pair of Nudies. People notice. And you'll get fades if you just wear 2x a week, just not as severe ones.

Have a look around at Revolve. They still have some jeans on sales, some close to 40% off the original price. I picked up a pair of Kicking Mule 1950 for really good price.
