Brooks Brothers Extra Slim Fit Shirts - Page 3

I have thought about it a little, and for me, branding makes the clothing appear more temporary and less timeless. Maybe a corollary is that it makes the clothes seem cheaper and less "valuable." (as in containing value, not expensive) You don't see branding in the great style pictures that everyone likes.

The issue with this statement is that there's nothing temporary about the golden fleece logo or Brooks Brothers. I won't buy a shirt with, say, a hickey logo, but if you ask me, in five years when this shirt is beat to shit, the Brooks logo will still lend character.

just purchased three ESF shirts from the website, will post fit pics when I get them. High hopes indeed...

bought one over the weekend, it's a good shirt. the fit is "slim" in the sense of what we would expect and I like that the proportions seem good, as far as size of neck to shoulder to chest to torso ratio. And the options for sleeve lengths make it convenient to get the right arm length. Stripes are all pattern matched everywhere possible for the anal retentive. Will def get more. and the striped buttondowns dont have a logo, only the "sport shirts"

Here is a 16/33. I am 6' 190 lbs and this seems to fit me well. Probably could have gone for the 32 sleeve for my T Rex arms...

Can people please post measurements of the shirts, esp. pit-to-pit? That tends to be more useful than relative comparisons among brands.
My size 15/33 measures 20" across pit-pit, about 19" across torso, didnt measure shoulders but they fit just right on me so I'm guessing about 17" across front

I bought the size Med in the sport shirt version, having tried on the Small it was surprisingly a few cunthairs too small thru the body. Never thought I'd walk out of Brooks with a size Med that fit ok.

Tried on one of these last week. Small white buttondown. The body was near perfect for me but the sleeve length was still pretty bad. Would have to get about and inch or so taken off by the tailor.

Did like the fit, not sure on the logo, so i'm holding off for now.

No, not really.

the sizing on Black Fleece shirts this season is fucked. and generally are NOT slim

the size BB0 which I bought before is so small now I couldnt even get my arms in them. The size BB1 is about 1/2-1 size too big and needs tailoring to fit right. It's like there is a 2-3 size jump from BB0-BB1

and the extra slim fits don't have a logo if you get a striped or checked buttondown. Only the washed sport shirt oxfords have the logo

I got a Black Fleece shirt from Gilt and the fit is horrible. I was very disappointed. I've been looking for these extra slims, but the online selection sucks and the logo turns me off. If someone knows an alternative for simple slim fit oxfords that can be bought online let me know.

So these shirts are now sized by neck and sleeve length rather than small/medium/large?
Sports shirts are s/m/l and dress shirts are by neck and sleeve length.

These look very promising. Don't mind the logo for some reason. In my mind, BB is cool even if some of the clothes actually look like crap. Maybe cuz its a humble brand. I'd feel stupid wearing an expensive logo. +1 on BF fitting like crap. I tried a BB2 (i think) from Gilt. Was super weird. Very slim arms and high arm holes yet enormous in the body. I've never seen a shirt so confused. I hope they fix this. I had high hopes. The quality of the material seemed quite high though.
