Instead of doing the family thing for Thanksgiving this year my wife and I are tossing around the idea of taking a long weekend trip. We're considering a couple of cities, but I thought I'd see if anyone here has a place we just have to visit.
I'd be interested in any place that fits the following parameters:
- East of the Mississippi, or at least pretty close to it (we don't have enough time to travel too far)
- Has to be either a direct flight from the Atlanta airport, or a 2-3 hour drive from North Georgia
- Can't be New York, Florida, or Georgia
Right now we're kicking around the idea of either Chicago or New Orleans. Neither of us has ever been to Chicago. We've both been to New Orleans, but neither of us has been as an adult.
Thoughts/suggestions?
