Any tailors in NJ who can offer high-quality hand-sewn buttonholes/ working buttons?

There are tailors who can do this alteration but I have never heard of any that hand sew. they have a special machine to help them do this.

Don't know where you are located, but try my man Carlos over in Summit. http://www.summittailors.com/customclothing.htm He's done my whole wardrobe...slimming shirts, suit alterations, etc. I asked for working buttons, but were a little pricey. Good work though.

I believe Carlos charges $90 for that service if the sleeves are already ready for functional buttons. If not, I think it's $110.

OK, I was looking for someone hopefully in the Bedminster, Bernardsville, Far Hills, Basking Ridge, Mendham areas.

machine or hand-sewn? I assume this is for 8 buttons?

I know an FIT student (masters degree) who sews some of the best hand button holes I have seen including on Savile Row, (I often found them to be deliberately rough round the edges for my taste). She's based in NYC and works from home. If anyones interested in this PM me, she charges $120 for 8 buttons.

She's so hardcore that she has at least 3 sewing related tatoos.

I have two tailors by me that do them by hand, both in central jersey.

Roma Custom Tailors in Livingston, NJ charges $10 each.

I can't believe that you are back.

What was the Tom Ford outcome?

Pasquale (aka "Lee") can do the job VERY nicely, but he's a bit pricey - at least $20 per button hole. He's located in Glen Rock NJ - Glen Rock Custom Alterations.

If you work in the city I'm sure there are several here who can provide this service and many would chime in if this is a potential alternative to NJ.

He is a bit far. I am either in the Far Hills/Bedminster, NJ area or New Brunswick, NJ

For everyone who puts a premium on getting handsewn sleeve buttonholes, I assume the other buttonholes on your jacket (front, lapel) are handsewn as well... If those are sewn by machine, why bother getting handsewn for the sleeves?
