Yeah chatted about it with my staff today (who are all women). A general belief that I did the right thing.

A lot of tch tch noises and disappointment that their own people would largely ignore a man beating his wife in public, but rush over to (possibly) defend a man being beaten by a foriegner.

The general opinion is that if it hadnt been for Ly (driver) yelling at them that I was helping the woman (ergo protecting a defenseless Vietnamese rather than attacking a Vietnamese that I outweighed), I may have had some problems with the gathered crowd.

my first response, when I started reading your post, was that you were going to get in trouble, either the crowd or with the police. I think that you were lucky. not that you weren't right to take the risk and do what you did - but I think that it could easily have turned into a situation that screwed up your business.

I guess I'd only be pissed in that situation if I'd intervened in order to be "my hero", as opposed to doing it because I felt it was the decent thing to do. No good deed goes unpunished. Such is life.

as soon as the cop came I said to Ly "lets go" and he nodded immediately.

im white. he's bleeding. EVERYTHING would have been my fault.

Stupid woman is probably still going to stay with the man after getting her ass kicked by him. It always happens, they think they are doing it out of "love".
