Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA

I hated this at first but upon second tasting, it is not so bad. The citrus flavor is a bit of a throw-off to someone like me who loves bitter beers, but it's actually not bad. It also packs a wallop at 7.2 ABV.

I had it last week and I liked it, too. I think Sierra Nevada tends to make a more balanced brew than a lot of the small fry microbrewers out there.

I'll give it a try. HUGE fan of Racer 5. a little disappointed with The BR Pete Brown though.

I Did try The Hair of the Dog Double IPA and wow! Super nice! Super fruity but really smooth...

I did a write up on it on DL

Only certain types of hops have citrus character, generally the American-type hops. The varieties of hops used in most British and German beers will add bitterness without citrus. </geek>
