Yep, it's nice, but I'd think I'd have to get one in a non-crap color.

Looks like Audi had some help from across the Alps...

The Gallardo and R8 are based on the same platform, and probably designed by the same people.

I don't like the convertible. The hardtop looks better, and not like an afterthought.

Also has some resemblance to the VW sider concept Love the R8, but prefer it with the top on...just looses something for me

Yes, I just don't like the fact that the two are drifting closer. With a halo vehicle like the R8 one would hope that Audi would keep the body styling more Audi and less Lambo. A halo vehicle is supposed to highlight and emphasize brand traits (though hopefully not the famous Audi understeer and depreciation!). Having the same powerplant/drivetrain/chassis does not mean the body styling needs to be so close. The nose is pure Audi, why not the tail?

Regardless I prefer the hardtop.

I imagine that packaging constraints limit what they can do with the back --- not only the exhausts and cooling of the engine, but the aerodynamic concept of the entire vehicle, too.

I just saw a hardtop R8 the other day on the road. What a gorgeous car from any angle.

Although, this version does get rid of those horrible Luke Perry sideburns.

Are you going to get one? You should.

Loses a lot of its presence without the top, methinks.

I am not even a small-time baller, so I can't. It's also too heavy for what it is.
