Anyone know who makes the brown shoe? Or, anyone that makes something very similar?

based on a few searches within the forum, i have come to the conclusion that:

A) vass seems hard to come by, inconvenient possibly
B) the cost is out of my price range

so anything close that is wingtip-esque to that shoe in the pic?

There was a very similar pair of Sutor Mantellassi that was sold on the B&S a few weeks back.

Otherwise, do a search on austerity brogues to find more makers/ideas

I do hope that isn't the case.

As for cheaper options, what are you able to spend? Martegani do a similar style of shoe which can be seen here:

http://martegani.wordpress.com/

And if the price is the same as usual for Martegani dress shoes then they should be $500, but I'm only familiar with buying through francos.

It would be worth contacting Ron through the blog.

As I recall, his shoes are made by Zee's in HK. They are plainly modeled after the Vass U Last austerity brogue, which I believe is the m.o. of Zee's from what I've seen. No idea on the quality. Sutor does in fact make a similar austerity brogue that looks very similar, at least on my feet.

- Correct..
- Apologies for not responding but I'm scared to open my PM box.. There is so much inane PMs one can take every week.
- these were made by Zee's whilst I was impatient waiting for my VAss MTO..
- FWIW they are great value
