This sounds like a great idea actually. Now I just need to learn how to make it . I am a cooking faliure and SF needs a recipies forum. I usually have oatmeal but lately I just haven't had the appetite and take turkey bacon and an english muffin or toast.

Im loving the idea of the bagel, lox, capers, cream cheese.
But I HATE cream cheese.
Is there anything else to replace that with? I was thinking an egg and melted cheddar...

Yup, Jersey's favorite breakfast. When I was going to law school in NYC, on my first day, I rolled up at the neighborhood deli for breakfast, and asked for a "taylor ham, egg, and cheese." The guy looked at me like I had two heads. I said "you know, pork roll." He then looked at me and said "we have regular ham if you want." I gave him the "guido look" and asked for a coffee and walked out.

Somehow I hate the idea of soup mix and never let that occur to me. Time to go to that little asian market then...

Egg sounds like a fine replacement but really bagel (pumpernickel or rye is best) + lox + capers + tomato + red onion + cream cheese =

Just go light on the cream cheese till you get used to it. I didn't like it for forever then all of a sudden it hit me. Unless of course you really hate it with a passion, then discard above advice. I would still recommend trying the above combo though. Is godly.
