Hi all

I'm in Singapore for the next couple of days and am looking at buying a watch for up to $1000. I'm considering a good seiko or a hamilton. Where can I get the best deal on a watch in Singapore?

Cheers,

J

King Wah Watch shop (#01-06, Peninsula Plaza) -

Decent range of Seiko, iirc the owner does not allow customers to try on the watches but it means that you will be buying one which no one else wore before.

Nanking Watch Dealers (level 1 Peninsula Shopping Centre)-

Friendly folks. Many new-old-stock Seiko and Oris. Also carries Fortis, Titoni, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Rado.

Lucky Plaza has a few watch shops too. I haggled 20% off an Omega there (and got GST refund at the airport on top)

I've heard lucky plaza is a bit of a tourist trap?

Thanks for the tips... will be out shopping with the wife later today so hopefully she won't spend all our $$$ on handbags.

Cheers,

J

Sinns are highly recommended. Beautiful watches that are extremely durable.

I checked out Peninsula Plaza yesterday... they had a large range but not what I was looking for. Shame as they had some old hamilton watches at 45% off. I ended up buying my wife a coach handbag for $800 so that pretty much ruled out my watch purchase. Thanks for all the tips all the same. My wife is Singaporean so we'll be back next year so I'll have another crack. Until then I may purchase a made in Japan seiko from Seiyo.

Cheers,

J
