$50 would be my limit, then right off for re-crafting for $100.

What does recrafting mean?

I think that there would be something to be said for AEs that were formerly owned by a StyleForumer, rather than a Goodwill etc. I've bought used PAs off ebay for much less than $100, but there's no way to know how well they were cared for (shoe-trees, regular maintainence, rest between wearings, etc.). I think the high standard of care around here is probably worth the premium price, especially if they are hard-to-find and/or a good staple shoe (example: I'd consider a $100 Byron, as I love that shoe, but not the kookier-styled Fairfax).

Also, on ebay, there's no returns on ill-fitting shoes, so you could entice buyers with some kind of warranty period, as I've noticed many gentlemanly sellers down in the Buying and Selling do.

ae is probably the only brand name i have no qualms paying retail for.

Given the fact the Fairfax is on closeout and the Byron about to go on closeout, $100 for even a slightly used pair strikes me as a bit steep. I'd rather pay the modest premium for a new pair of seconds.

The several pairs of AEs that I bought new were all for under $100.
Used shoes should go for less than $100.

Thanks guys - I saw some pairs at Last Chance today for $39.99 or $49.99 and was thinking of trying to flip them, but it doesn't sound worthwhile.

If I get back there tomorrow, I'll try and make a list of what they have and put it up here to see if anyone's interested in getting some at those costs plus shipping.

Anyone looking for anything specific I should keep my eyes open for?

Hi,

I'll take you up on your generous offer if there is a pair of those kooky Fairfax in chestnut on sale.

Many thanks,

J

I'll take Park Avenue in 8.5.

FYI -

There are too many shoes for me to put up a list, so I have just been PM'ing those members who have expressed interest and given me sizes.

If you are looking for something specific or want to know what's available in a certain size, let me know and I'll check.

If you've already contacted me, I should have responded by now.

First one to ask for a pair gets them - assuming they are still in the store when I go back to buy them.

Hello, Style Forum! First post here-

Anything in 9.5? Let me know, I really like the Park Avenue and Byron. But if there's anything else, i'd be obliged if you told me.

I caught your post last week re: Allen Edmonds. Do you know where they're going on closeout? Is this an AE sale at the end of the year? Thanks.
