Anyone see the pilot yet? What'd you think?

This show sucks. I hate it. It attempts to be smart-funny and it isn't. It's just bland and I don't care about it. I can't stand the whiny main character either. It may only be the second episode (I'm gritting through it right now trying to give it another chance) but it has disaster written on it. At least Curb is back on to offset this junk.

What gets me is all the good shows a la Deadwood and Rome end early with a large fan base and they come out with this crap.

Saw it....yawn.

Rome was great but it cost like 100mil to make and the fanbase apparently wasn't large enough to support more of it.

As far as the history was concerned, it was bound to slow down a lot after the Battle of Actium. Augustus consolidated power and things changed much more slowly after that. I'm not sure if it would have continued to make for good TV. It probably would have just devolved into a very expensive soap opera.

Rome was good in terms of length. They ended it at just the right time. Is the Tudors any good?

true to it's name, I fell asleep both episodes.

It kinda jumped the shark when they got the creepy red haired guy to play the adult Octavian. But other than that it was a terrific series.

I think "Bored to Death" is hilarious.

Absolutely awful. Uninteresting and unfunny

It isn't so bad but it far pales in comparison to the writings of Jonathan Ames, who created the series and whose short story the show is based on. It is far from great but I feel like it will get better, Jason Schwartzman annoys me but overall the premise has potential. Oh and Rome sucked. Revisionist bullshit.

I hate Schwartzman. There's no way I'm watching this show.

That's my main gripe. I don't see ANY potential. When Hung came out I didn't like it but I figured it had some potential and I liked it as it came to a close... this one I won't even be watching next week.

The previews made it look good. But I've been unimpressed. Saving grace: Olivia Thirlby is hot.

Uhm...for some reason the show got a LOT better like 20 minutes into it....hmmmm
