Got it in the grocery store. On sale for like $6.50.

Really? What type of ale is it?

Brewery Ommegang. Belgian style ales brewed in Cooperstown, NY.

And I agree about the wow. My beer crazy friends insist it is up at the top for domestic brews.

Oooh, I like Ommegang. I'll try it.

it's sublime. I've been to the brewery, and the way they make it is quite interesting. To infuse it, they use a giant "tea bag" filled with spices that is dipped into the fermentation tank.

Figures that Conne would love the beer that's been teabagged.

Had a bottle. Didn't buy another. Then again, I know nothing about beer.

I buy it every so often. It's a great beer, but just a tad pricey (as far as beers go, anyway). A 750mL bottle usually goes for around $10, and they're not very easy to find (unless you live near a Wegmans, that is).

biggest thing I miss about NYC. Easily. Not only did the Wegmans I frequent have everything Ommegang, but they even had an Ommegang-only shelf ... in the produce department.

I didn't like it - to much like glogg to me. However, I seem to be the exception - all of the beer geek friends I have love it.
