It certainly puts me to sleep but I feel like hell the next day. Anybody have better luck with the rest of the current crop, like Lunesta, Rozerem, Sonata, etc.?

U need Ambien CR. Make sure you sleep for at least 8 hours.

there's a sleep aid that is supposed to work as effectively as ambien, but has a shorter half-life in the body, called "halcion." in my experiences it works fairly well, but not as well as ambien. it didn't put me down the same way that ambien did. but i felt pretty great in the morning, so maybe it's what you're looking for? when i took ambien, i'd take a full pill if i knew the next day i didn't have a lot going on, and half a pill more occasionally, to prevent the after effects. see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halcion but they say its habit-forming. i didn't feel that way, but YMMV.

FWIW a colleague of mine took Ambien on a transatlantic flight, had a good nap and when he was roused had no recollection of having boarded the flight. He panicked in the unfamiliar environment and had a bit of a psychiatric episode which resulted in the plane staff zip-tying him and considering an emergency landing. He now figures fatigue is a welcome trade-off against short-term memory loss that sometimes comes with ambien. I would use with care.

If Ambien makes me feel terrible the next day, why would a version of Ambien that sticks around even longer be better?

I've heard good things about Lunesta. It's supposedly as good as Ambien for knocking you out, but it doesn't come with the amnesia and other side effects that can occur with Ambiem.

Melatonine.

It´s the sleep hormone. It helps you sleep more concentrate and helps get more serotonine in the brain.

Don´t take drugs for sleep and give a try to natural things.

Yeah I've heard this too, I think I might ask my doctor to change me over to it.

Melatonine, end of discussion. Gives you easy sleep.
