College Dorm Decorating!

Thread Starter
Hello all. I'm looking for ideas. I've got a lot of wall-space in my dorm room to cover and I was wondering what you guys had in your rooms back in the day, or even what current college students have on their walls at the moment. Posters? Artwork? Links would be greatly appreciated, too.

You really shouldn't be caring about this.

Another tip: Never call it decorating again.

I had this:

I am not exactly proud of it, but at least it's not as faggy as calling it decorating.

Or putting up kayne west posters and using pink towels.

I didn't have one, but does anybody remember (or still have) a "Nagel" print?

That's an answer.

I'd suggest finding that Cary Grant photo that is around here (he's in a suit and a coat) and put up a bunch of them, Andy Warhol style.

Don't invest in too much now, possibly save up a little for when you move off campus or beyond. This is assuming that your place then isn't akin to Animal House. If so, things are going to get trashed anyway. Then hold off for the next level of higher priced purchases for your grad/first apartment out of college. Honestly, I believe some of this depends on your environment and who else is living with you. Right, now I'd just care to surround yourself with things that interest you on a budget. The place doesn't have to be cliche either... You'll probably end up wanting to dump most of this stuff down the road since your tastes will have changed, (or the girlfriend demands otherwise). Do as you like, no one's stopping you.

I had a couple of Steve McQueen posters...one from Bullet and one from Le Mans (the cool one with him holding up two fingers in his Gulf Racing suit). I also had a number of Geo Ham vintage F1 and Gran Prix posters.

SEriously, I wasted literally hundreds of dollars on posters. Sigh, stupid. By third and fourth years I ended up stopping trying to "look cool" with all the popular posters and just put up my own personal interest stuff. Some B&W photos I'd taken and printed out, my sword rack (not in first year though!)... I started with car posters, girls, famous movies, etc. It was pretty cheasy. Something like the above pic is a talking piece.
