I know a few people on here have them, I remember Phat Guido does.

How are they as far as the quality and reliability? I am thinking about picking up a fountain one, at a pretty good price (about 50% off) and I love the design, but a bit unsure about the functionality/reliability.

They are good pens...the ink is what makes the difference.

They're fine in terms of reliability and functionality (they write?). It's pretty much an aesthetic consideration. Most moderns pens do what they are meant to do, though I have had problems with modern Omas and Viscontis with ink flow.

I've got a few and while i really like there design i don't think they write as well as some of the much cheaper pens i own. Personally, I think my Fisher space pen writes much smoother and at a cost of $35.00 compared to $150.00+ for a delta you can't go wrong.

The ones you get at hotels are better. The ink in those lasts forever!

I like my delta. I've never met anyone who paid retail for one, and value is subjective anyway.

Big fan of Visconti designs and would love to pick up one from the opera line

I just recently picked up a Van Gogh Maxi RB (thanks GILT) in vanilla, and I like it quite a bit. I am using it today as a matter of fact. I also have an AIDA fountain pen incoming (should be here tomorrow). I am really looking forward to the arrival of the fountain pen since I am so impressed with the rollerball. Overall I have been impressed by the history and philosophy of the Visconti company.
