Tie your Tie is a great shop with a ridiculous name

Remember to make an appointment at Bugelli - it is not a shop, but rather a workshop

As someone who spends a lot of time in Florence I think you've got pretty much everything covered.

Now how are you set for eating?

I'm not, so any suggestions are welcome.

"za za" for lunch is incredible

marinated artichokes followed by tagliata is great. Tagliata anywhere in florence is great (compared to the us) if thats your thing.

Just got back last week. For food, definitely go to Frescobaldi and ask for Francesco or Primo. Excellent menu and extremely knowledgeable on the wine. Right off of Piazza Signoria. La Giostra is also pretty good. Near Piazza Santa Croce. MangiaFoco on S. Apostoli is great for a quick lunch. Try the bresaola panini. It's just down the street from Ferragamo.

And one more shop: Eredi Chiarini, Via Roma 16r [Just re-read your post, you got this one]. Oh, and Happy Jack on Vigna Nuova (right across from Sutor) has tons of Borrelli, including some beautiful cashmere/wool ties.

Highlight (apart from getting a new work bag 1/2 off at Sutor): I saw Simone Righi of Sartorialist fame hollering into his mobile phone outside of Tie Your Tie. He was rockin' his intepretation of the security guard.

A great shop. Bought this cashmere puppy from there for a cool 15 euros.

I'm moving to Florence in three months. So I look forward to checking out all of these (of those posted, I only know Bugelli and Milord). Does anyone know an alterations tailor they would swear by? There seems to be a fair amount of Florence expertise here.

Foodwise, Da Marios, the tripa place in the market and La Giostra and the fresh homemade pasta place (you buy it and cook it yourself at home). Had dinner at Villa St Michel which was a nice venue but foodwise wasn't spectacular.
