Trusting a website with credit/debit card

Normally I buy stuff from Amazon and other reputable sites.

Now I want to buy something worth hundreds from a site I've never really heard of:

http://www.furnituretoday.co.uk/

The website seems really professional but it begs the question, how do I know I can trust the website with my cash card.

check with your credit card comapny - some (Citi and discover) have a web widget that will generate a random CC # for one time use. That way you dont have to use your real # and if that website is shady they cant do anything with the number you give them.

Your risk of fraud is probaby higher when you give your credit card to a waiter or leave it behind the bar to run a tab.

Thats assuming you are not entering it into some crazy shady looking site for porn / etc...
