PSA: C&J for Brooks Peal captoe boots & NEW STYLES and BF cashmere - Page 19

I got a pair of 11.5D from Jamison, they are absolutely perfect. I am just barely a 12D, sized down on these to an 11.5D, and they fit perfectly.

Might someone be in a position to offer advice on boot care: what shade of Saphir Medaille D'or wax would I need for the dark tan scotch grain Peal Captoes? If another wax would be preferable, in your view, what exactly should I be purchasing? I assume I also need a cleaner/conditioner/waterproofer cream, and a brush, but these specifics are covered in other excellent threads. The only thread-specific question I have is what color wax should I get to care for the dark tan scotch grain C&J captoe boots. Thanks.

^ part of what's nice about that boot & that tan pebble grain leather is all the choices you have w/ cream polish. you could use all your favorite browns. polish only slowly changes the color of the leather. so you can gradually darken them or shade them toward more yellow or red or orange or green or whatever you like. maybe start with medium brown and cognac if you don't already have a big box full of this stuff.

My pebble grain boots arrived yesterday (in Australia). They are awesome!

I am normally a 10.5E or EE, and I ordered an 11D. I need to close the laces all the way, but they are blissfully comfortable once I have them on.

I threw some Obenauf's Oil on mine. Darkened them right up, look fantastic.

I received my Peal BB spectators from Chorse (great proxy) and I was disappointed to find they are a big for their size and are probably more of a USA11.5D or E/10.5UK size.

I think that 10.5D would have been right. I am surprised as a previous purchase in Peals in 10.5D was too small.

Hmm, old thread, but did anyone end up getting an extra pair of these they still want to get rid of for whatever reason? in a size 10US or 11US.

I got a proxied pair from NYC and paid USD300 delivered to Australia. They are true to fit in the width. I am an 10.5E/11D/E and found the 11D's to be width correct for USA size so sizing up meant I had the width. But they are a generous 11 lengthways pushing 11.5 due to an almost Italian last. I am wearing them all the time in winter and they are very comfortable though I would have sized down and have had a pair stretched if I had my druthers. I wear thick socks so there is not much issue. They are a big solid English boot waying a kilo each I suspect and would last for ever with the Dainite sole. Mine get better and more comfortable with constant use.
