having to get a smaller boat or improperly decanted wine or a b when you deserved a b+ doesn't qualify.
i want to hear from those of you whose careers are in the toilets, who's wives hate you, who's live's truly suck. incurable diseases. fat children. carry on.

one of my coworkers had a grandson die suddenly this weekend. he wasn't even a year old

I made up some cavetelli today for dinner, thinking that I had some pesto in the cupboard, and I didn't. I had to eat it with irish butter, olive oil, parmazian and fresh cracked pepper. it wasn't the same.

my frail grandmother in l.a. has lost a lot of weight because her alzheimer's makes her forget to be hungry, and she's too weak to fly back here and spend the rest of her days in her old home and amongst family. my mother in law discovered a tumor in her breast which she had removed. she refuses to have further treatments as she thinks all cancer treatments would entail suffering. her daughters, including my wife, can't do anything but follow her wishes but I know deep down they are suffering terribly because of her decision specially since they are so emotionally attached to her. i had terrible beer last night, and yet i opened another can.

My bad news:

Trying to find a way to fly my girlfriend out here for her week off at the end of September. Problem is, I'm broke. I found a really decent price on a flight, but couldn't pay for it at the time because she had to double check with her boss that she'd get the whole week off, and I had to wait for some funds to come in. In the 5 days it took for her boss to confirm and for my money to come in, the price of the flight almost doubled, and now I think I can't afford it. Meaning instead of going 6 weeks without seeing my girlfriend, it'd be 3 straight months.
