I guess my meaning isn't coming across well; I'm not meaning to imply there is anything wrong with Creed or critiquing your like for it. I've had lots of them, enjoyed most, though again, I was just offering the caveat to other members about price, other possibilities from niche houses, and the availability of some others on the market in varying strengths. A lot of other members might stop with Creed, given its status in the perfume world and how many people go on-and-on about GIT, and my posts were simply designed to say to them that while it is good to give it a try, also don't forget smaller niches like L'artisan, Malle, Montale, Parfum d'empire, Comme des Garcons series stuff, etc. Those parts of the post weren't really targeted at you, who obviously have done a lot of sniffing and know what you like. In any case, as to your OP, I had no problems with longevity with SMW. It lasted very well on me. But, then again, I even got fair longevity from Neroli Sauvage, which is notoriously fleeting on many. well moisturized, hydrated skin before application helps a lot.

I have two Creeds that I own and both enjoy for different reasons. They are Bois du Portugal and Oliver Creed's Limited Edition Feuille Verte. Both of them have decent longevity on my skin and I've considered them both 'classics' IMO.

Resurrecting an old Thread, but finally went to Neiman Marcus and tried every Creed they had. I currently wear GIT mostly, as well as Kenzo Homme.

The thing that struck me about Silver Mountain which everyone seems to love, is that it smelled very feminine? Does it settle down after the initial period?

Vetiver is my signature scent. It is simple, refined, fresh and manly + it gets plenty complimentd from the ladies.

Agreed. It's sexy as hell on women, but it's far too fem on guys.

Either Millesime Imperial or Aventus.

Every time I see a thread about Creed--I don't care if it's about the Nicene Creed or Apollo Creed or any other kind of Creed--I feel duty-bound to mention Fleur de The Rose Bulgare. It's a straightforward, very linear rose, but its the best rose I've ever smelled. I know most of the people who post here wouldn't be interested, but I feel like I need to mention it anyway.

Baie de Genievre is very good too. It's "big" in an '80s kind of way, but not obnoxious at all. And the new Royal Oud is fantastic, but very expensive.

After seeing my own poasts from 2 years ago, I now change my answer to SMW.

Windsor is quite nice, but there's a batch difference between the 2009 and 2010 releases - the 2009 being significantly better smelling in the opening and middle.

I would say aventus is the best for now. And a close second to MI.

I probably like Silver Mountain Water the best for daily wear.

However, the original Tabarome is a good winter evening scent.

I think it depends on the climate you live in. When it was summer and really hot out I used Millesime Imperial. Right now it is early autumn and the weather is cooler but sunny, and it's Green Valley. I agree that SIlver Mountain Water, although really nice, is a bit feminine for my tastes. There is a guy over on Basenotes who is getting ready to split the much anticipated, very limited Feuille Verte - which I understand is a fantastic woodsy scent that would be good for winter.
