how long in one house?

Thread Starter
it just hit me today - I have been living in the same apartment for 3 years. this is the longest I have ever lived in one residence, since I was a teenager, but even then I am not for that counted (for a number of reasons I am not going into) and even so it was only a little longer.

so, what is the longest you have lived in one residence, and what would you say your average is?

I'd say my average is just under 1 year, if you take into account all the places I have lived for 3 months or so.

Jeez: 2 yrs in the current house, before that it was 8 years. Moving out of that neighborhood was tough, we'd made a number of friends there, but when we come back for a visit, the 'hood gets a little bit worse than it was.

When I lived with my parents, was is one place for 12 years and the next one for 10.

On my own, the longest was the last rental in NYC for 6 years.

I hate moving. Hate it so much.

One to 12 in one house. Twelve to 21 in another. Two places through the last two years of college. Then moved six times in the last three. I hate it and can't wait to own a place I can stay in for a couple years.

Seven years in my last house. Three in this one, with no plans to move until we are too old to take care of it.

I have lived in my metro area for 12 years, which is the longest I have lived in one place in my entire 48 years of life.

My current apartment for the past 5 1/2 years... with the same 2 roommates. Beat THAT. You guys dont even stay with your wives and kids that long.

Before that a frat house for 4 years with 45 other dudes (clean up the drool, metro)

4 years here. I seem to move at about 4 year intervals and I HATE it.

6 years is the longest I've lived anywhere. That was before I turned 18. I grew up on military bases and even if I didn't move, I never made friends for longer than about 6 months because they would have to move. I can't imagine what it's like to know someone from childhood.

I've been living in the same townhouse since I got married 8 years ago. Years of living plus a couple of kids makes it smaller than it was when we first moved in. Plus having a crazy crackhead for a neighbor doesn't help, and I long for the day we find a better place.

Well, the longest I live in a house is 3 years. Last year I moved out and never be able to find a place called home after since. I moved from one place to another and I have live in this place for 5 months for now. I think I could live longer, but I don't know yet.
