Shows or events you thought were early childhood dreams but were reality

I always had this dream or nightmare when i was very young, of a tv show where some homo kid danced and played around with some life-sized puppets on an eerie stage. I thought it was a childhood dream but to my terror ran across this the other day:

!!

it completely caught me off guard and surges of electricity shot up my spine from a moment of terror. it wasnt a nostalgic feeling at all, but a realization that this was not a surreal dream but an actual show back in the 70s.

anybody else have anything like this they can relate to?

One of the all time tv classics. Sid and Marty Croft. It had a cult following then and probably still does today. Totally deserved following too. a unique outside the box show.

Maybe he saw it on a lgbt forum. Question is... why is he dreaming of it?

I concur, that shit existed. People on TV really fuck with kids' heads.

I was also trying to explain to my kid there was a cartoon show about a bunch of little animals wearing t-shirts(squirrels, raccoons...) living in a small enclave in the middle of some urban park and they become superheroes. I think the show is titled Shirt Tales. My wife thinks I'm making that up.

there is this show where there are 3 little boys who are entitled pricks who have no idea the childhood i suffered though or what i go through to provide them with a home and food and basic morals. oh wait, that's my reality.

Fuck yes! I knew it! I used to love this show when I was a kid. I bought a tape of it when I was in high school and I couldn't believe how shitty it was. How does our memory overshadow such horrendous crap?

This happened to me with that Robin Hood cartoon where they are all animals. I had such awesome memories of it and then one day years ago my little cousins were watching it and I couldn't believe what garbage it was. Ever since that say I try not to watch things like that and ruin any more childhood memories.

Say it isn't so. I loved that version of Robin Hood.

My father loves to buy me DVD sets of childhood shows. It has since nearly ruined my memory of Pee Wee's Playhouse (his stand-up was much better) and The Real Ghostbusters.

The only cartoon that I think can withstand the test of time would be Ren and Stimpy.
