Yeah, All Star Lanes. Drunken bowling and drunken singing (they turn down your volume if you are exceptionally bad.) Good times for all. Started my bachelor party there.

Looks like I got a new place to check out when the Chalet gets crowded.

That's funny that the Crate people are in Eagle Rock as I used to live in the 'Rock. I enjoyed Fatty's as well for good vegetarian food, but I have to be the dissenter and say that Casa Bianca was not as good as I was told (although I am a NY'er so I am biased).

Back to the Crates, does anyone else's James IV say "James the Third" inside besides myself and the OP? Also, I would actually size down a size, my Crates have stretched a decent amount from very little wear.

I know this isn't the food forum and I'll quickly return this forum back to Crate once I get their catalog, but did you ever make it out to Vito's on Vermont south of Los Feliz when it was still open a few years back? That was about as NY as it could ever be. Fatty's "coffee" side sucks. Ok, back to Crate chat.

i just got the sally's as a gift...and i think if they were bootcut i'd probably like them more than the james IV. the beltloops are folded and sewn unlike the james IV. that's the only thing that bugs me about the james iv. other than that, they are a sweet pair of jeans. they fold really nice at the bottom. i'm a 31 in RRDS...could even do 30, and these james iv are a 32. right now they are a perfect fit, which has me a little worried about stretching. oh well...we'll see how they turn out i suppose anyways, i'm selling the sally's if anyone is interested. i'll let them go for cheaper than active endeavors with their 20% off coupon!

I just got my James IV today and I threw off my work clothes and hopped into them. One thing is WOW: helluva low rise (the AE did say 9.5" though), and tiiiiiight (they warned me of this as well). Anyway yes, GET YOUR TRUE SIZE. I went one size down (32" true and got 31") and its pretty tough so far. We'll see how it progresses through the week (I cant wear them all day since I work during the week but I will try to wear them every day this weekend and right after work). I lost my digital camera otherwise I wouldve taken pics. Im kind of wishing I got the RB6 (I still can though I dont want to go through the online return hassle) as I beleive its a higher rise.

Anyway I will be a man and stick it out. It should be interesting how these develop over the next few months. Hopefully, I dont spill anything serious on them

PS - WHat would happen if one was to wash the jeans immediately after getting them? OR is it so beside the purpose it would warrant a lynching?
Don't see what the big deal would be. They're a dark wash and not raw, if I'm not mistaken, so they shouldn't shrink and maybe lighten up a little.
From what they feel like, they seem raw
they are raw - you could probably do a cold soak (no agitation) if you want without losing any/much indigo

how much do these shrink in the inseam? my pair is coming in this week, but it is a 35" inseam ( i need a 30")

they maybe shrink from a 35' to a 33' at most...

I'll have to hem them no doubt, just curious as to how much to expect..

. . . so the barney's co-op in Houston now carries acne, nudie and crate -- so naturally i went to go check out the selection.

they had the crate sally's and james's in both black and blue. the markup was ridiculous! i think they james's were $195!

anywho, i tried on the james's and they were ok . . . it felt like the front rise was too high or something, like it was just as high as it was in the front as the back. i had a weird puff in the front needless to say, so i guess these guys aren't for me.

i can vouch for the sketchy quality. seeing them hang on the hook just by one belt loop it looked like it would pop off any second!

i like the aesthetic overall though. the thoughtful thumb holders on the back pockets look really cool without looking gimmicky, because they maintain the classic shape of the pocket. i also like that the pockets were long like nudies, but i think i'll stick with my svens for now.

$195? damn. I tried the James IV @ CoOp for $134, got em on ActiveEndeavors for $107 shipped. I like them. I sized up the waist for comfortable fit in the leg, they still fit slim w/o being uncomfortable. I see what you mean by the front puff, but it's not bad. I like mine.

They also have rag&bone now, and they had some apc stuff, but I didn't see any jeans only cords. I was also told they would be getting cheap monday for guys in a month or so. It's nice that houston finnaly has somewhere to buy jeans other than the typical seven and true religion.
