Anyway, i got a pair of the slim taper too, in size 29, and mine measured nowhere near tagged size in the waist. Ill be sending them back because they are waaaaaay too small for me. Its a shame because i like the construction/fabric/overall look of them.
measurements, tagged size 29:
waist - just under 13 inches. No, thats not a typo, the 29 seriously measures under 13 inches across the waistband.
rise - 9.25
thigh - 9.75
knee - 7.5
hem - 7
sounds like the 31 might fit me, i may give them a try them once revolve gets yours back in stock.
anyone else have sizing for theirs??... seems odd that a 31 measures tts, while a 29 measure 3 inches smaller than tagged size.

This is one of the reasons I gave up on Crate. I bought 3 pairs in the same tagged size. They all had different waist measurements, and only one out of three fit. I remember people saying that they were true-to-size, which I take to mean that if the tag reads 32", the waist measures 32", but I found that to rarely be the case. I also couldn't find a reasonable correspondence between the models: I would wear a 32 in one model, a 35 in another. This inconsistency, plus a number of construction issues, turned me off.
Okay, so I've read a lot of the stuff on this thread and had a question about the raw crate stuff... So I have two pairs of crate's and both fit true to size, but I ordered them in raw (narrow straight's) and they fit like a size small. My question is, whether anyone has any experience with them, do they stretch out that much? Because it seems like the general consensus on the narrow straights and narrow tapers is that they fit small, but I was wondering if they were designed that way so that they would stretch out. Does anyone have any experience with them? Or did you just size up one? Because I know the 31s fit perfect now, but if they're going to stretch out a lot I don't know if I should get my normal size......
I was originally looking for something looser than skinny jeans but still slim and straight. So I ordered the narrow straights which are modern but not too skinny, but my only problem is that they seem a bit boot cut. Which to me sort of defy's the name "slim straight." Does anyone have the slim tapers? Would you consider them skinny jeans? Or are they like narrow straights without the boot cuts? I hope that that makes sense. I'm just sort of burnt out on skinny jeans, I want jeans that are slim without being contrived. Like maybe a bit looser than typical skinny jeans but without a boot.
I think the reason you see the slim straight jeans look like bootcut is because of the knee bags that come with raw denim. All of mine have that issue even though the leg opening is slightly smaller or the same size as the knees. I ended up switching to tapered jeans to account for this.
Wow, man, thanks. I ended up taking the tags of them, so they are mine now anyways. They actually fit pretty well, and plus i have to cuff them anyways, which sort of takes care of the boot problem. I think that's good advice on the tapered part. I'll keep that in mind next time i need jeans. I'm glad that you understood. It's sort of funny, at one point I said to myself, that I can't see anything appealing about Chambray or bootcuts, and now I have both. I'm really digging these pants though. I really like the whole made in the USA shtick. I hate buying pricey stuff to just to read made in China.
