I'm somewhat of a nooby in this realm, the only reference I have for raw jeans is my size 32 APC New Standards, which were pretty tight at first but have stretched to a comfortable (perfect) level now -- I've never washed or soaked them, I think I might have dry cleaned them once. Thanks in advance, your advice is appreciated -- I'd hate to go through the paid of exchanging online but these already feel roomy enough in the waste, i'm worried they'll strech even more if i don't do something (exchange or soak or washer/dryer).
The most important question is how they fit NOW. Are you comfortable with how they fit today or do they feel baggy? If they fit how you'd expect them to fit months down the line, that's really not too big of a problem. Jeans are only going to stretch where there's movement in a tight space, ergo, looser jeans will not stretch near as much as tight jeans. If you think they fit a bit baggy right now, more than you're comfortable with, then return them for a sized-down pair. I wouldn't recommend banking on soaking/drying to get them to shrink.
