Crate Denim - Page 10

Trenditional -- Let it bleed, especially on white Vans and chucks. They're begging for more personality anyhow.

A soak can help a little, cuffing can help, putting tape on the inside of the hems can help.

In regards to new raw denim and bleeding on to shoes. What is the trick to keeping this from happening? Obviously if I wear some black boots it will be a mute point, but what about wearing some white vans or chucks?

I wear white chucks as my daily shoe and the bleeding from my APCs gave them some badass character.

My opinion, go with the flow man.

thats the beauty of raw denim

just wear them, and enjoy/be content with what happens.

i may have missed it in this thread, but what is the difference between the james iv and the route and the journal? from what i've read, the route seems like it's similar to apc ns, but what's a james iv like? slim? slim-straight? i'm trying to get into raw denim, and this seems like a solid way to go for a first pair... can someone give me some guidance on fits (although from this thread they seem to be true to size)

James: Slim low-rise slight boot. Route: Slim mid-rise taper. Journal: Regular low-rise straight. True to size on all (roughly) but size up one or two on the Journals.

Please share with us why you think that just by looking at a pair. In San Francisco.

Do any of the Crate models have 36"+ inseams? Im looking for a slimmish straight-leg with a waist of 36 an an inseam of 36+.

Only the Routes go up to 35" or so.

I recently picked up a pair of James at a steal, but didn't like the bootcut (it was a lot less subtle than I expected, but whatever...). Took them to the tailor to get them tapered a bit. Picking them up next Tuesday. Can't wait to wear them!

Are there any examples of significantly worn Crates out there?
