Ugh.

Every time I get tricked into going to the NY meatpacking club scene I realize how overrated it is. It's fun when it's free but it just isn't anything special.

I haven't hung out in the meatpacking in a while. If you''ve done the club thing in NY for a while, you'll know at times it can get tired and repetitive. But it's still has the most diverse club/bar scene anywhere i've ever been,. All depends on the night, people and amount of liquor you have in you..

Stopped by Opening Ceremony. Seeing that the line to get in was a block down, just decided to fuck it and head over to the village for dinner. Stopped by Paul Smith on the way. Varvatos had a long ass line too. But I gotta say, I have never seen so many douchebags in one area...

Oh God, it's the worst.

I stopped into Odin on Lafayette on my walk home and it was pretty nice. That store is big enough to accommodate a crowd so I had no trouble drinking a Pabst and looking at some of this season's clothes for the first time.

I have to say I was unimpressed with almost all of the lines though I felt there was some nice outerwear to be had. KMW at 50% off had me considering a second pair of 1980's but I'm going to grab some knits instead.

Are you talking about the Meatpacking District or New York in general? Because there's nothing diverse about the MD - it's just rows of the same bar, inhabited by the same people. Even when a new bar opens like that 675 Bar, it attracts the same douchey crowd.

You know a great place to get drunk and wild out? Le Royale.

My roommates went to 675 bar a week or two back; they said there wasn't a guido to be seen. We shall see how long the infestation is held off for...

Le Royale is a pretty fun place although a tad small.

NY in general. It all depends on your mind set for that night...Yeah man, i feel you on Le Royale. When i used to hang in the meatpacking i used to go to Baktun. It was a Drum-n-Bass place. The setup was great, music was uptempo and almost every time we would go, get hooked up, drunk and wild out...This was in my early 20's, times certainly have changed.

I was there> seems like you went to the wrong stores.
Jean shop had munchies and tequila

Stella McCarty, McQueen, and Matthew Williams had Moet and other drinks.

Moschino had fortune tellers and other stuff.
Theory was rockin also.

The BIG ass shocker was scoop > every store was packed with shoppers and partiers. I was amazed.

My friend andrew buckler had a lot of booze and great music.
the chicks in th MPD were on the skanky side.
If you wanted a good time you could have. If you wanted to meet a chick it was NO PROBLEM!

Do people still go to tenjune???

In soho
Agent provactor- had some nice eye candy and special things for girls and boys.
Buckler actually made money at his Grand street location.
Bloomies hosted Woolrich John rich

There's ton's I am mising but it was a good thing even if people didn't buy. I think morlae is up and people might shop later.... I hope.

Let's get this going again! I can't believe it's been a year...any confirmed parties yet? I know Gant Rugger is having something. Hopefully Varvatos will still rock.

I did a few in Brooklyn this year. 1Was in Cobble Hill, noticed the prosecco and chocololate covered strawberries already out at Jodi Arnold, next to Steven Alan on Atlantic. I ran into a costume designer who is also a jewelry designer, Kate Cusack who does stuff with zippers for the wimmenz. 2 Rest in Wmsburg. Something called Brooklyn Kingdom at Knitting Factory. Small expos of indie designers. Some applique tshirt with mesh on the shoulder....ech. but sponsored by Absolut Brooklyn. The Absolut girls have logo'd diresses, look like sexy stewardesses. 3. Bird on Grand. F/W looks like a lot of expensive modesty. but there was beeeeeer... 4. Charlie and Sam on Grand St. Small selection of menswear, but includes Oliver Spencer outwear, Ingram shirts. Tiny cupcakes! 5. Not official FNO but on N 3rd, a store still open called About Glamour, which had a lot of Japanese Vintage, which is good for Japanese-sized people...but a few new things as well, redirected from the Japanese market, like Vivienne Westwood pocket squares. 6. Brooklyn Denim Co, on N 3rd and...wythe? Large and well appointed. More prosecco I think. Some denim-friendly good shirts and tailored clothing by Craig Robinson. Denim selection is a blur.

I had a client putting on a demo at Sephora in US so I went to that - good show. Walked over to another client at 3rd and 13th - bit of a madhouse, but fun. Hit Billy Reid on the way back to my car - good vibe and plenty of beer. Finally made it my car in SOHO and found it blocked by a few hundred screaming spectators at a store on Mercer. Screaming for Rachel Zoe. Pretty much ruined my night.
