2 (I love shell, and I love the design of this shoe)
1 (really nice looking wholecut)

I'm not a big fan of either of those monks, but particularly number 5. The balance looks off for some reason. I will say that Francos has some of the best shoe pictures on the web.

From this I can tell lot of you guys like conservative look.

I generally find flashy French shoes much more attractive than flashy Italian shoes.

From most liked to least in my opinion: 1, 3, 2, 4, 5, 6. I dislike monkstraps in general so that's the basis of my rankings.

In order:
1 - The brogueing really makes the shoe for me. The understatement of it is powerful.
5 - I actually prefer the color of #6, but the captoe needs to go.

Ideally? Shoe #1 with colour & patina of shoe #3. But I have a wholecut fetish (that due to monetary reasons alone is unsatisfied ) The last double monk is rather nice although not my cup or tea exactly.

I've been eyeing #2 for nearly a year, but I can't justify it given I have the Brooks Alden cordo plaintoes in color 8.

So I'm curious, how do you rank them?

I think I'd rank them:

1- love the brogueing and patina. It's similar to a kiton shoe but less red and minus the brogueing on the toe-box, and with a slightly different shape
3,2- 3 is interesting but maybe over the top. Undecided so far. I like #2, but since it's such a substantial shoe and most things I wear are pretty sleek, it's less of a priority.
5-I like the color, but agree with a previous poster that the lines sort of ruin the double monk
6-not really in to cap-toes
4-color is too plain, although I like the shape. prefer lighter shoes.

I agree. While I don't much care for the toe-shape of the former, that's far better than the chunkiness of the latter.

Have you seen some of the latest pics posted of Carmina/Albaladejo shoes here and the LL? A perfect combination of English style lasts with French style colouration.
