SNS Herning- fits? - Page 305

Hopefully that's just a one-off mistake. Are BOTH sleeves badly constructed?

@LA Guy

could you give your 2 cents?

The holes have nothing to do with the uneven seams I was describing earlier. Yes I hope 2 holes are one off mistakes too

Looks like a factory defect.  These things happen for any brand.  I would contact the retailer, or even S.N.S. Hernng.

My navy MOMENT cardigan came in and I found it to be TTS. I laid it on top of my FW12 purple melange stark (both size M) and they are very similar. In fact, if you took 1/2 inch off the sleeves of the moment and 1/2 inch off the body of the stark, they would look like they were cut from the same stencil, except in the shoulders where the stark is more sloped and the moment is more humped. This is what causes the stark to have a higher collar. The moment is a heavier, tighter knit, which makes it feel a little slimmer since there isn't as much give. And obviously the pattern is different.

For my money, I would prefer everything about the stark (shorter sleeves, longer body, and looser knit) but with the shorter collar of the moment. But I doubt they will make me one like that.

Also, I wish I had oxblood or burgundy. Navy is too close to the two starks I have, purple melange and black melange, plus I just got a very similar Nigel Cabourn piece in navy. So if anyone wants to trade moments, oxblood for navy, I'm your huckleberry. (I'm keeping the starks so not interested in trading either of those.) Still undecided if I will keep or return and wait for a better colorway.

Btw, went to to wear the navy mix ion from unionmade and sleeve had two holes in it! Cardigan was shipped without tags and now I have my suspicions. Waiting from UM, hopefully they can just send a partial refund to cover small cost of repair

I also had a (non SNS) sweater just delivered from Unionmade with no tags. Gave it a thorough exam and didn't see any issues - just don't get why they would ship a new item without tags?

Can anyone comment on if this is true for the Moment crewneck as well? I know it would seem obvious, but never hurts to ask, esp since the Ion seems to be fitting a bit more generous.

I sized up this year to XL on the Stark and it's a great fit--I have a similar build to ChetB so mine fits like his pics from a few pages back--but in all the other cuts (Naval, Fisherman, Ideal) I'm an L.

Just scored an oxblood Ion cardigan on sale at Roden Gray. The code for 20% off is posted here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/295658/roden-gray-official-affiliate-thread/360#post_6884671

I've been not-so-patiently waiting for them to go on sale and watching oxblood Ion and Stark cardigans disappear around the world, so I decided this is about as cheap as the oxblood Ion would get. Thanks to Fok for posting pics of the color(s) and to everyone here for posting fit pictures and sizing advice!

How much did you pay to get it shipped? At around 370?

I wish they had it in XS. I have a navy-mix in size S, but it didn't fit me correctly. Now I have no choice but to sell it in the marketplace. Out of my stark, fisherman zip-up, cotton cardigan and momento, the ion is easily my favorite piece from SNS Hernings. It's one of the thicker SNS offerings, but extremely versatile: you can wear it as a standalone piece in benign winter temperatures or as a layering piece under 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

Shipping is free (by slow boat) so I paid $336 US. I really like the unique textures of SNS Herning pieces and was debating between the Ion and Stark, but knew I wanted the oxblood color. The wonky sizing on this year's Starks and the unexpected sale by Roden Gray made up my mind. The Ion is my second SNS sweater, since I bought an Emergent cardigan in triple gray mix last Summer.

The Alter sweater fits very snug so you need to size up.  I normally wear a medium (e.g., JCrew, RRL) but needed a large in the Alter.

I would not say it's very snug. It's consistent with the other mid-weight crew necks I own from them like the Naval and the Ideal. The only piece I've had to size up on are the "new" Starks.

Speaking of the Alter, if anyone here grabbed the last Ocean Blue one in small from Indigo & Cotton and it doesn't work out, hit me up!
