SNS Herning- fits? - Page 95

Had my camera out so I thought I take a picture and provide a fit. It's a large and I'm 196 cm and weigh about 91 kg.

XL Stark got here from P&S...fit is MUCH better than the L. A little bit long on the whole, but easily remedied by wearing with 2 or 3 of the bottom buttons undone (as I plan to) or rolling the base ribbing up when completely buttoned. I'm too lazy to take and post fit pics, but count me as another satisfied Stark purchaser.

Alright, I just searched this thread for "felt" and there were no relevant results. I couldn't pull of a rollover turtleneck but damn, the knit looks awesome from the pictures.

 

I've been thinking about getting a fisherman knit and was wondering if anyone knew how the feel of it was? Only thing I found was some people saying that the stark was neither soft nor rough, but nothing on any other knits.

It really isn't...but more to the point, 'soft' isn't a useful adjective in this situation.

The Stark is made from virgin wool. It's not merino, it's not cashmere, it's not a blend...it doesn't feel like something you'd buy at J Crew and using mass market product as a frame of reference, it's not soft by any stretch.

That said, as I've said elsewhere in this thread, it's not as abrasive as I expected. I actually have a different virgin wool sweater, from J Crew no less, that's actually scratchy to wear. For the longest time, I wore a long sleeve T under it because the scratchiness and density was irritating otherwise.

To contrast, the Stark isn't that, despite what I expected...it's dense and heavy weight, but not particularly soft--perfect for a cardigan likely to be worn over dress shirts or other items for durability reasons, but totally wearable stand alone over a t-shirt.

I really only wear my stark with a tee


Although I must admit, when I tried on the black melange, it was noticeably itchier than my burgundy stark

Compared to Our Legacy it feels like sandpaper. Not really a good argument. The stark and most of the other SNS knits aren't necessarily soft, but are still wearable with just a tshirt underneath
