Rapha (
www.rapha.cc) are a British startup that makes expensive cycling wear inspired by cyclists of the 50s-70s. They also have a magazine arm that fetishizes the thighs of weary waterboys and the suicides of tormented grimpeurs (
www.rouleur.cc). Their cycling wear can get a lot of hate for being too expensive, but it's very well designed and in nice fabrics - their jerseys are in a sportwool (40% merino) and fit well and have a lovely finish. They have previously done some cool all merino jerseys based on Coppi's Bianchi stylings of the 50s in a fully fashioned construction made in Scotland.
They also have an American arm based in Portland that does some cool stuff and documents 'epic' rides across North America. I know some of their riders and they're a good bunch - check out the Rapha Continental section of their website for photoessays and ride descriptions. I imagine their 'collabo' will be suitably 'epic'. The rapha merino is much superior to the merino from other cycling outfits (Swobo etc.) IMO. The fits are usually slim, but I gather the last season was a bit more roomy.
