Once saw Doc Watson and his late son Merle with Michael Cole (?) on bass guitar. Wondeful performance.

Yeh, Gob Iron are great.

I caught them live a couple years ago - great show: Jay & Anders each did a solo slot before coming together to do the new Gob Iron stuff. I have a couple songs off the album, but not so much into their short instrumentals.

I never caught an Uncle Tupalo gig, though.
